Welcome back to our 101 seriesātoday, weāre diving into a topic near and dear to my heart: Marketing 101.
Marketing is one of those words everyone throws aroundābrand, image, promotionābut what does it actually mean, and why is it essential to any successful real estate business (or any business, really)?
What is Marketing?
By definition, marketing is everything a company does to promote the buying or selling of a product or service. Itās the bridge between your business and your customer. This includes:
- Advertising
- Selling
- Delivering products or services to customers
Back in my Stonehill College days, we learned the 4 Ps of Marketing:
- Product ā What are you selling?
- Price ā How much will you sell it for?
- Placement ā Where and through what channels will you sell it?
- Promotion ā How will you get people to buy it?
Your Brand = Your Identity
For us at Flip and Hold Funding, it all starts with our company name, logo, and consistent messaging. Everything we do is branded.
Part of that brandāwhether I like it or notāis also me. Iām on the front lines doing videos, networking, and being the voice of the company.
Once you define your brand, ask yourself:
- What need am I solving in my industry?
- How does my product or service stand out from the competition?
- Who is my target customer, and how can I speak directly to them?
Two Key Elements of Marketing Success
1ļøā£ Branding
Branding is everything tied to your identity:
- Logos (like the one behind me)
- Catchphrases (āHard Money Made Easyā)
- Consistent messaging (Flip and Hold Funding Fridays)
- The personality and attitude you want your customers to feel
Our message is clear:
We fund real estate deals for real estate investorsāfast, easy, and for less.
2ļøā£ Sales
Branding is nothing without closing deals. How you get your message out matters. Here are some options:
- Social media campaigns
- TV, radio, billboards, Google Ads
- Email marketing
- Organic content creation
- Educational or networking events
Final Thoughts
Marketing isnāt a single actionāitās a system. Youāre building awareness, creating trust, and ultimately driving sales. And weāve only just scratched the surface.
